Korea Gas Safety Corporation Showcases Plant Inspection Solutions at Global Tech Forum
Korea Gas Safety Corporation Showcases Plant Inspection Solutions at Global Tech Forum — Sharing Innovative Safety Inspection Technologies, Including RBI Systems and KRTiS Reformer Tube Robots — The Korea Gas Safety Corporation (President & CEO Gyurnggoog Bahk, hereinafter referred to as KGS) announced that it participated in the 'SAMSUNG E&A Tech Forum 2026' hosted by SAMSUNG E&A on June 2, operating a promotional booth to ensure the safety of domestic and international industrial plants and share the latest gas safety technologies. The event was held under the theme of 'Energy Realism: Continuity, Diversity, Velocity,' and attended by approximately 600 officials from around 200 domestic and international energy companies and institutions. At this forum, KGS showcased its core specialized diagnostic solutions, which are developed and operated to secure advanced integrity and prevent accidents in plant facilities, promoting the corporation's unrivaled technological capabilities to domestic and international experts. The primary technologies featured consist of two key solutions: Risk Assessment (facility risk management based on RBI modeling) and Reformer Tube Robot Inspection (KRTiS, KGS Reformer Tube Inspection System). 'Risk Assessment (RBI)' is an advanced safety management system that scientifically analyzes facility damage mechanisms, occurrence probabilities, and potential accident impacts to provide optimal inspection cycles based on risk priorities. 'KRTiS' is a reformer tube internal inspection robot system independently developed by KGS. It is an innovative technology that increases inspection accuracy and drastically improves worker safety by using robots to automatically diagnose the interior of reformers, a core plant facility. "This tech forum is a great opportunity to widely promote the corporation's world-class plant diagnostic technologies and solutions to the industry," said Geumnam Oh, General Manager of the Petrochemical Diagnosis Division at KGS. He added, "We will continue to strengthen technical cooperation with private companies and actively support the industry with cutting-edge safety diagnostic solutions. Ultimately, we will do our best to prevent gas accidents in large industrial plants and enhance national industrial competitiveness."

KOLAS Certification newly Acquired by Hydrogen Appliance Inspection & Certification Center of Korea Gas Safety Corporation
KOLAS Certification newly Acquired by Hydrogen Appliance Inspection & Certification Center of Korea Gas Safety Corporation - Improving the Quality of Hydrogen Appliance Inspection and Test by an Agency Dedicated to Hydrogen Safety Management - - Contributing to Vitalizing the Hydrogen Economy with Basic Qualifications for Overseas Certification - Hydrogen Appliance Inspection & Certification Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center) of The Korea Gas Safety Corporation (President & CEO Gyurnggoog Bahk, hereinafter referred to as KGS) announced on Dec 24 that it has obtained the KOLAS(Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme)(Test, KS Q ISO/IEC 17025) certification. The Center was established for the purpose of legal inspection and tests requested for hydrogen appliances (hydrogen extraction facilities, water electrolysis facilities and fixed/mobile fuel cells) in accordance with the Hydrogen Act, and since its opening in November 2024, it has been supporting the development of the domestic hydrogen appliance industry by conducting thorough legal inspections. In particular, the Center adopted the KOLAS quality system to establish a system for the demand for overseas certification of domestic hydrogen appliance manufacturers and the advancement of test and inspection quality. The accreditation standard is the largest in the hydrogen appliance sector in Korea, and 29 types of standards (484 test items) were registered, including ISO 16110 for hydrogen extraction facilities, ISO 22734, and IEC 62282 for fuel cells. Compared to KOLAS testing institutions for other hydrogen appliances in Korea, it has secured competitiveness with far more specifications and test items. Based on the acquisition of KOLAS certification, the Center can easily register external laboratories for overseas certification. Currently, the Center has signed an MOU for overseas certification with major overseas certification organizations (BSI KOREA, SZU KOREA, TUV NORD), and has enabled CE certification and UKCA certification in Korea. This is expected to help domestic hydrogen appliance manufacturers develop new markets and revitalize the economy of the national hydrogen industry. "This certification is expected to contribute greatly to revitalizing the domestic hydrogen industry economy using hydrogen products," said Gyurnggoog Bahk, President & CEO of KGS. "We will take the lead in securing the reliability of our corporation and securing global hydrogen safety competitiveness by upgrading the quality of inspections and tests."

Announcement of the Enactment of '1 Type of KS in Carbon Neutral CCS Field'
Announcement of the Enactment of '1 Type of KS in Carbon Neutral CCS Field' - Development and Presentation of Standards conforming to International Standards for the Transportation of Carbon Dioxide Ships - The Korea Gas Safety Corporation (President & CEO Gyurnggoog Bahk, hereinafter referred to as KGS) developed one type of KS in the field of Carbon dioxide Capture, transportation, and Storage(CCS), and announced it in advance through the Korea Agency for Technology and Standards(KATS). The standard announced this time is 'Shipping of Carbon Dioxide', which provides technical guidelines for domestic manufacturing-based companies to transport carbon dioxide safely and efficiently. Through this, KGS expects that the standard will greatly contribute to strengthening safety management and achieving carbon neutrality in the carbon dioxide transport process. The standard announced is finally announced by KATS after collecting opinions from related parties for 60 days. The current standard can be viewed in the KS pre-announcement column of the e-National Standards Certification (https://standard.go.kr ), and review opinions can be registered on the website. Meanwhile, KGS is regularly conducting a study on the demand for standard development in CCS through its website (https://www.kgs.or.kr ) and hopes that related companies will actively participate in developing and supporting standards necessary for domestic industries. Until now, KGS has established 11 types(68.8%) out of the 16 international standards in the CCS field as a standard development cooperation organization, and has established one type as a unique standard. In order to revitalize the CCS business, KGS announced that it will do its best to develop and manage appropriate standards by first selecting international standards necessary for domestic industries.
